چکیده

We argue that the ratio S 3 = ΛH/( 3He × Λp ) is a good representation of the local correlation between baryon number and strangeness, and therefore is a valuable tool to probe the nature of the dense matter created in high energy heavyion collision: quark gluon plasma or hadron gas. A multiphase transport model (AMPT) plus a dynamical coalescence model is used to elucidate our arguments. We find that AMPT with string melting predicts an increase of S 3 with increasing beam energy, and is consistent with experimental data, while AMPT with only hadronic scattering results in a low S 3 throughout the energy range from AGS to RHIC, and fails to describe the experimental data.

What Does the Free Space LL Interaction Predict for LL Hypernuclei?

Data on LL hypernuclei provide a unique method to learn details about the strangeness S 22 sector of the baryon-baryon interaction. From the free space Bonn-Jülich potentials, determined from data on baryon-baryon scattering in the S 0,21 channels, we construct an interaction in the S 22 sector to describe the experimentally known LL hypernuclei. After including short-range (Jastrow) and RPA co...

Kaon-condensed hypernuclei as highly dense self-bound objects

The structure of K−-condensed hypernuclei, which may be produced in the laboratory in strangeness-conserving processes, is investigated using an effective chiral Lagrangian for the kaon-baryon interaction, combined with a nonrelativistic baryon-baryon interaction model. It is shown that a large number of negative strangeness is needed for the formation of highly dense and deeply bound state wit...

Productions of Double Hypernuclei with antiprotons at PANDA

One of the goals of hypernuclear physics is to study the properties of baryon-baryon interaction including the strangeness contribution. Double hypernuclei can provide information about the ΛΛ interaction in addition to the hyperon-hyperon and hyperon-nucleus one. A new technique for producing double hypernuclei using antiprotons is foreseen in the PANDA experiment at FAIR. Gamma ray spectrosco...

Production of Light (anti-)Nuclei with E864 at the AGS

Light nuclei can be produced in the central reaction zone via coalescence in rel-ativistic heavy ion collisions. E864 at BNL has measured the production of ten stable light nuclei with nuclear number of A = 1 to A = 7 at rapidity y ≃ 1.9 and p T /A ≤ 300M eV /c. Data were taken with a Au beam of momentum of 11.5 A GeV /c on a Pb or Pt target with different experimental settings. The invariant y...

ΛΛ interaction and hypernuclei

Whether the existence of hyperonic matter is present in the central regions of neutron stars with densities are in excess of nuclear saturation density is unknown. One of the fundamental pieces to determine this is the interaction among baryons bearing strangeness. A neutron star has been considered as a gigantic nucleus of N ∼ 10 nucleons [1] with a radial structure closely related to the equa...
